Personal Development Day Jan 2017

It was Personal Development Day at Priesthorpe on 25th January 2017.  Personal Development Days give the students valuable opportunities to learn from key speakers and learn about their life experiences, as well as lots of interesting team building activities and time to share with their peers.

Today was a real treat for our students who had the opportunity to listen to the experiences of two high profile sports personalities.  Jamie Jones-Buchanan and Ashton Golding from the Leeds Rhinos visited the school and gave a talk to the students.

Both Lewis and Curtis were clearly very proud to have their picture taken with the sports stars, which was the perfect ending to a great day!

Spring 2015-16 Newsletter

All our Priesthorpe students have worked tirelessly during the term.  They have been very proud to showcase just how hard they have been working.  You can check what they've been doing in their class newsletter.  Please see attached for more information.

Four of our Priesthorpe partnership pupils used not only their imagination, but their initiative to create some amazing wintry tales to enter into a Christmas Story competition, being run by the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The students were asked to write a story using the introduction "Snow had started to fall and everywhere was covered ni white.  It looked like a truly magical, picture perfect scene.  Emily peered out of the window adn something caught her eye"..... The students then had to continue with their story.

Corban Mitchell, Lewis Parfitt, Curtis Walsh and Kyle Colwell showed real commitment and flair in their writing and were successful in having their stories published in the YEP on Tuesday 29th December 2015.  Well done to all of them, a truly remarkable achievement.

Kamaal receives award

Kamaal in our Priesthorpe Partnership has received a "Services to the Community " award.  He volunteers every lunchtime and helps out with cleaning the tables in the dining hall.  He has also helped other students to get their lunch and shown them what to do - he's an absolute star.

Our Year 9s have been designing their own print work and worked completely independently choosing colours and designs themselves. Here are some samples of their  Art, Design and Technology work.
