Mint Class at The Powerhouse

Supporting Mental Health Awareness Week - May 2018

Spring 2015-16

The students have been very busy during the term and are very proud of what they have achieved.  They put together their class newsletter with contributions from all of the group.  Please see their newsletter attached for what they had to say.

There is an exciting new Café/shop available for life skills trips which is SEN friendly. The new venture is being run by the Lighthouse school (Autism Free school) and several of our students are accessing internships, supported by our staff.

The cafe/shop is situated on the Otley Old Road on the way up to Holt Park – drop in if you are passing and support them.  Further details can be found in the attached leaflet

Post 16 - Work Experience

A number of our students have had opportunities for work experience within the SILC.  The students had to formally apply, undergo and interview and be accepted to the work experience roles.  We have been able to offer students experiences of working within caretaking, catering and office and administration.  They have really excelled at the opportunities and have proven themselves to be very worthy candidates for securing future employment.
