Anti-Bullying Charter

Please see the information on our School Development Plan page with regard to our Anti-Bullying Quality Mark action plan 2015/16.  We are currently working towards the Bronze accreditation.

The Anti-Bullying Steering Group meets at least three times per year and features representatives from Leadership and Governance.  The steering committee ensures core responsibilities are fulfilled and reports on the evaluated progress to members of the group.  Staff in contact with pupils have received appropriate training and PSHCE programmes of studing, including specific anti-bullying schemes of learning for each year group have been identified.  Each scheme of work encourages pupils to refuse to accept bullying in the school and enabling them to have the skills to deal with it, should it happen.

The school operates a peer support scheme e.g. buddy system, restorative justice scheme and peer mediation.

Buddy Bench

Buddy Bench

Our Buddy Bench was launched on Friday 3rd June 2016 as a result of the idea presented by the School Council.

A presentation was given in assembly and the Buddy Team were introduced to learners; staff also discussed the purpose of having a Buddy Bench and how it can be used.  The Buddy Team shared how  they would like to help people to feel happy in school in the context of identifying negative emotions that people might be feeling.  The Buddy Team also reinforced the important message of inviting other learners to talk to them if they need help, support or  just someone to talk to or play with.

Bullying - A Parents Guide

Bullying is a way of describing a pattern of repeated, negative behaviour.  Such behaviour is aimed at an individual or group, with the intended effect of causing physical, mental or emotional harm.  Fortunately, within our School cases of bullying are very rare.

Attached is a short guide for our parents and carers.

If you would like to discuss this further, or have any queries, then please do not hesitate to contact School.

Sky Blue Class

Sky Blue class had a circle about how we can be a good friend.

We made posters about being a good friend using the computers.

These are some of the things Sky Blue said about how to be a good friend:

Kind, gentle, listen, help, share, play, fun, smile
